Education

In two years, if I'm teaching in the public school system, I will be using a bunch of technology.
Most importantly I will be using powerpoint. I think that this is a very useful tool in the classroom. The student are able to see exactly what I'm talking about. Other types of technology I will use would be the blogger or a website inwhich student can contact me. I think that using technology will help students in the classroom .

Satsumas are ready

Well the fruit is finally ready!!! The Satsumas are ready and we've started picking a few boxes of fruit. I think my wife is going to go to the Mobile Flea Market this Sunday and try to sell some fruit. She should have Satsumas, Lemons, and Kumquats(sweet and sour). I'll probably bring some trees as well. So come out and buy some fresh farm grown citrus fruit.

Election time

Is everybody getting as tired of the up coming elections as I'm? I don't understand how the politicians can believe that calling my house ten times a day and playing a recording of how dirty the other guy is will make me go out and vote for them. Most of the calls I receive don't even mention who I'm supposed to vote for, they just tell me how bad the other guy is. I can't wait for tomorrow when all of this will be over.

missing an assignment

I had to miss last week, and was wondering what we did in class. I'm pretty far along on my website, and was wondering if there was anything I missed? What about those tri-fold's, did Dr. Strange take them up and print them out? Please leave me a comment. Thanks, Brian

blogs in the classroom

I Think blogs in the classroom could be a great tool for the teacher. It could be used as a class website, so the teacher could post homework assignments, as well as other information that would help the students. Also the blog could be used as a student forum with the teacher over seeing a class discussion about a certain topic. I think a blog or a website should be required for the teacher to have in the classroom. The students would find it very useful, but concerned parents would find it invaluable. It could be an easy way for the parents to keep track of grades as well as assignments.

HTML web site

My website is coming along fine, but there are still some problems I'm having and I was wondering if anyone else was having them to. I can't figure out how to make the font bigger on the pages, Also the spacing, how do you move things around. For instance I want to write somthing and then space across the page and add something else. How do I do that? What about the spacing, how do you space between the lines? What if i wanted to go to the bottom of the page and add a paragraph? If anyone can help I would be happy to hear from you.

Question about teaching

I guess one of my biggest question about teaching, would have to be, is teaching as hard and as stressful as other teachers make it out to be. I have several friends and family members who teach in the public school system, and I hear most of them complaining a lot about certain aspects of teaching. They all tell me that the amount of paper work and the bureaucracy in the public schools is the hardest thing to deal with. I' m going to love teaching, I sure of that, but I not sure what to expect, as far as, what the rest of the job entails. As a student I can learn who and what to teach, but so far none of my instructors have really talked about what to expect in the other aspects of teaching.

Bishop State

Has everyone heard about the Bishop State fiasco that is going on in the newspaper. Apparently Bishop state is being charged or is going to be charged with some financial corruption charges, and the newspaper is calling for the president to step down. According to the mobile press register, their are several people already on leave because of this. Some of the charges were the mismanagement of federal student aid money. This should be very important to everyone, because every penny that the administration mishandles, is a penny less that is not going to help the students. A lot of people,(me included) depend on student loans and other aid to help pay for tuition. If you get a chance go and check out the Press Register and see what's going on. This is everybody's money.

Just trying out my blog. This is my first post, and I know it's a little late. I'm still learning how to move around in blogger, but I'm coming along now.
